Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial data, monitoring costs, preparing budget reports, and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial data and provide variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare cost estimates and budget reports for new products or services.
- Monitor actual costs against budgets and analyze fluctuations.
- Conduct regular inventory reconciliations and report any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to analyze costs and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain and improve internal controls related to inventory and costing.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost control procedures.
- Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
