The company produces famed Meyenberg® goat milk and butter, Redwood Hill Farm® goat milk yogurts and kefirs, and Green Valley® lactose-free cow milk dairy products. Darey Brands also co-manufactures premium, plant-based dairy alternatives. Products are sold nationwide at leading grocery, mass, natural, specialty, and online retailers such as Whole Foods Market, Kroger, Albertsons, Publix, HEB, Sprouts Farmers Market, Walmart, Amazon, Instacart, and more. Darey Brands is a recently created company that united two long-standing and iconic specialty dairy companies – Meyenberg and Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery.

Darey Brands has two primary locations, in Sebastopol, CA and Turlock, CA, with approximately 120 employees across both sites. Darey Brands is wholly owned by Emmi Group. Job Overview:

The Senior Graphic Designer (SGD) will create and develop and manage the full array of visual assets to support the brand portfolio at Darey Brands – Meyenberg, Green Valley, Redwood Hill Farm, and Darey Brands. The SGD is a key player on the marketing team, working closely with the Senior Brand Managers to visually bring the branded portfolio to market. The SGD also works with the Sales team to ensure our brands our well represented with our retailers and distributors.

The SGD will work within a lean marketing team of five that is passionate about breakthrough positioning and communications to grow our brands. Our team combines classical marketing processes and tactics with out-of-the-box thinking to create authentic storytelling experiences for our consumers and customers – all of which needs to come alive visually.

We work in a recently renovated space at our production facility in Sebastopol, with a hybrid weekly schedule of three days in the office and two work-from-home.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Graphic design for branded communications

· Creates all consumer-facing assets such as digital and print ads, website banners, still and motion visual content (gifs and reels) for social media and other digital outlets as needed, campaigns and emails, digital and print brochures, recipe postcards, coupons, etc.

Packaging design and production

• Gatekeeper of all packaging files. Manages internal packaging routing & approval process, makes all packaging updates and dieline adaptions, creates digital packaging mockups of the current packs. For new items, develops visual assets from concept to commercialization.

Digital Asset Management

• Responsible for managing library visual assets including logos, color specifications, product and lifestyle images, as well as editable and print-ready design files. Uses an organized naming and archiving system to ensure version control and easy access for marketing, e-commerce, and sales team members. Supports sales and marketing teams by resizing, cropping, updating and color-correcting photography when needed.

Pre-production

• Prepares design files for print according to vendor specs; uploads final versions to vendor portals. Serves as a liaison with print vendors and troubleshoots as needed.

Photoshoots

• Collaborates with Senior Brand Managers in scheduling, brainstorming and supervising professional photo shoots, providing up-to-date brand assets and design elements. Occasionally does in-house photoshoots if needed.

Photo compositing

• Composits photography or updates label changes on lifestyle photography by utilizing current assets .

Physical Mockups

• Crafts physical mockups for sales and marketing needs. 

Graphic design for sales

• Responsible for all trade marketing materials including sell sheets, sales presentation templates, point of sale materials, and trade show signage.

Swag and other office design needs

• Develops a variety of branded promotional materials. Develops creative to address uniform designs, office signage, wallpaper design, office space decor, etc.

Creative subject matter expert

• Participates in creative sessions and actively gives input on internal and agency-driven projects relating to new packaging design, website design, and creative for multi-media campaigns.

Manages outside vendor relationships and freelancers needed for overflow work.

Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA in Graphic Design or equivalent certifications and work experience.

• At least 5 years of graphic design with some experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) space.

• Expert in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.

• Experience in print production for packaging and collateral.

• Experience in packaging design.

• Experience in photo editing, photo compositing and color correction.

• Tech curious and tech savvy.

Preferred Experience:

• Skills in photography, video editing, and animation.

• Technical IT skills with Mac and Printers.

• E-commerce design: Instacart, Amazon A , etc.

• Hand and/or digital illustrations.

Physical Requirements:

· Primary work activities are within an office environment.

· Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in an office environment.
