Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Implement behavior management systems to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met
- Collaborate with case managers, nurses, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Drive individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings
- Assist with heavy lifting and transferring of individuals as needed
- Utilize conflict management skills to deescalate challenging situations
- Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members
- Ability to follow directions and implement care plans accurately
- Patience and empathy when working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
- Attention to detail in documenting observations and incidents
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting or prolonged standing
