Looking for Experienced Optometric Technician/Associate for a growing Optometric practice in Mobile, Alabama.

Southern Vision Care is seeking a full time Optometric Technician/Associate. We are a fast-paced Independent Optometric practice and we are excited for the opportunity to add a new member to our team!

Our practice is located on the beautiful Gulf Coast in Mobile, Alabama. We pride ourselves in offering state-of-the-art technology and excellent, personalized patient care. With over 19 years of experience, Dr. Shirey and his entire team utilize expert knowledge of the latest advances in premium prescription eyewear, contact lenses, and comprehensive eye health. This enables us to help our patients achieve and maintain clear, comfortable vision.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate would possess superior patient care and customer service skills, the ability to work in a close-knit team environment, and a disciplined/self-motivated attitude.

Experience in an Optometric/Opthalmic office is a MUST. Optometric/Opthalmic technician certification is preferred, but not required. Experience with OfficeMate is preferred, but not required. Having an open mind and being willing to cross train will allow you to excel in this position!

Responsibilities include:

• educating and assisting patients in selecting their glasses frames and lenses
• taking patient glasses related measurements
• presenting and dispensing glasses
• patient testing and scribing/assisting the doctor during the exam
• communicating with doctors, staff, and patients
• patient scheduling
• insurance verification/claims submission
• patient intake
• patient checkout

This is a full-time position with the opportunity to cross-train across all facets of an Optometric office. We offer wonderful eye health benefits as well as accrued PTO and holiday pay following a 90 day probationary period. Salary is based on experience.

Office hours are as follows:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
• Wednesday - 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
