POSITION SUMMARY
In this hands-on role, you'll transform digital designs into professional printed pieces. You'll be responsible for operating our state-of-the-art digital printing presses to produce a wide range of materials, from brochures and flyers to booklets and marketing collateral.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate digital printing presses with proficiency, maintaining consistent quality and production efficiency. Ensure adherence to press maintenance schedules to keep equipment running smoothly.
  • Utilize Command Workstation software like a pro – your skills in job setup, imposition, and color management will be essential for streamlining the printing process and achieving optimal results.
  • Prepare and operate die-cutting machines to create unique, custom shapes on printed materials. Your understanding of die sizes and pressures will ensure clean cuts and minimize material waste.
  • Use of Guillotine cutter – precision trimming and parent stock cutting will be under your control. Your ability to adhere to safe-cutting practices is crucial.
  • Use Sleeking and folding to create a final product that exceeds expectations. Your attention to detail will be on display with every project.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all established safety protocols.
  • Develop and maintain a functional knowledge of all software programs used in production processes (role specific).
  • Use various laminating equipment and materials to cover, strengthen and protect media and/or substrate(s) to output the job order to the exact customer specification and meet quality control standards.
  • Use various (2 axis) plotting equipment to cut, score, pen plot to output the job order to the exact customer specification and meet quality control standards.
  • Weed excess vinyl from computer cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl and complexity of image.
  • Read, process, comprehend, and follow the detailed instructions on the work order prior to starting the job to assure the job is done correctly and to the highest degree of satisfaction.
  • Assist in other departments when necessary or orders are slow.
  • Inspect finished work for sharpness, head strikes, ink drips, banding, handprints, debris under laminate, blemishes and/or any visual flaw that would not meet quality standards before the job moves to the next stage in production.
  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, including cleaning rollers, clearing jams, replacing consumables, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others in a teamwork environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demanding standards for quality and productivity.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and adhere to all company safety procedures and recommendations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a digital printing and bindery environment.
  • Your proficiency in operating digital printing presses is a must-have, along with a strong understanding of printing principles and terminology.
  • Experience using Command Workstation software for job setup, imposition, and color management is absolutely essential.
  • You should possess a strong understanding of die cutting principles and be comfortable operating die cutting machines.
  • Prior experience using Guillotine cutters and adhering to safe cutting practices is required.
  • A keen eye for detail, a commitment to producing high-quality work, and a willingness to learn new techniques are non-negotiables.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills will allow you to thrive in our team environment and effectively interact with other employees.
  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and take ownership of projects is a valuable asset.
Compensation
  • $24-29 Hourly (depending on experience)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
  • Ability to work under pressure to output high-volume, high-quality work.
  • Ability to use light power equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
