In order to expand the footprint of our product lines, we are in search of Independent Sales Representatives to facilitate our product placement in local shops and specialty stores within the assigned regional territories. Our products naturally cater to specific markets, therefore, individuals with the ability to see and create market expansion opportunities are paramount.As an Independent Sales Rep, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by prospecting, cultivating leads, and closing deals within your territory. This position offers the flexibility to be completely remote and manage your own schedule and is a 100% commissioned role.Responsibilities: - Meet with business owners in your local & surrounding area & present our signature product lines as well as drive business towards our experimental gear divisions growing product line. - Have a passion for selling outdoor products such as our multi-season tents, backcountry arctic-grade sleds, bags, and casual apparel. - Generate, promote, sell, and secure new accounts for the company. - Provide existing accounts (in your territory) with necessary products, timelines, and information. - Assist with the selection of products best suited to customer needs based on the market. - Prepare and input orders as necessary and assist in the collection of accounts receivable. - Inform company of competitive prices, products, and area-related information. - Maintain current knowledge of daily and monthly sales and their relationship to budget and margin goals. - Work to exceed sales goals while maintaining a healthy mutual business environment for Alaska Gear Company and our retail partners. - Maintain intimate knowledge of our products, programs, and policies at all times. - Ability to map controls and policies set in place for distribution. - Follow the direction and initiatives set forth by our CEO. - Attend Alaska Gear Company sales meetings and events when required.Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent - Two years of previous sales experience – preferably other independent sales roles - Ability to exercise wise and pragmatic business judgment and make decisions based on both existing data and solid business acumen. - High proficiency in oral and written communication - Must have a vehicle, valid driver's license and clean driving record - Exceptional active listening and communication skills with a positive and engaging personality - Experience in backcountry outdoor field preferredCompensation & Benefits: - Be your own boss! - 1099 commission-based work - Uncapped commission opportunities! - Great work-life balance!While this opportunity is outside of the state of Alaska and remote work based, being able to travel for occasional on-site visits will be an asset.
