FieldSource Construction Inc is Hiring a Construction Estimator Near Downers Grove, IL

JOB DESCRIPTION

FieldSource Construction is a specialty trade partner focused on commercial, industrial, healthcare, and life science interiors and is currently seeking an experienced ESTIMATOR. Our services include interior demolition, metal framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings and carpentry. The right person for this position must have light gauge framing, drywall and ACT experience. This ideal person will have been working in an estimating and project management role. The ability to deal with deadlines and create several estimates simultaneously is a must.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Prepare detailed proposal based upon a thorough understanding of drawings and specifications
  • Provide expertise on the design of design-assist projects including means and methods
  • Attend site visits, pre-bid walkthroughs, job site walkthroughs, coordination meetings, pull schedule meetings and any other meeting to perform responsibilities
  • Prepare, track, and reconcile project budgetsReview and negotiate contracts
  • Prepare submittal documents
  • Prepare project-specific material and equipment orders
  • Coordinate with foreman, superintendent, and other personnel to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneouslyPrepare RFI's, RFC's, CO's and coordinate with General Contract, Architect, and other parties to complete work through the duration of all projects
  • Assist in project start-up mobilization and close-out
  • Maintain healthy working relationships with clients and peers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of interior demolition, light gauge framing, drywall, acoustic ceiling and carpentry
  • Experience with On-Screen Take Off, Planswift, or equivalent software
  • Strong math and analytical skills with an eye for detailMust be able to read and understand commercial and industrial drawings and specifications
  • Thorough understanding of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
  • Understanding of the bid process
  • Ability to establish processes where no precedent or guidelines exist
  • 3 years of construction management, estimating, or equivalent work experience
