Position: Chef Garde Manager / Pantry Chef
Location: Turf Club, Twin Falls, Idaho
Reports to: Sous Chef
Hours of Operation: Tuesday through Saturday (Some late nights and early mornings may be required). Open to both full time and part time applicants.
Compensation: Hourly pay based on experience, plus tip share
Summary of Position:
As the Garde Manger at Turf Club, you will be responsible for the preparation and artistic presentation of cold dishes, including salads, appetizers, and charcuterie. Working closely with the Sous Chef, you will contribute to the overall success of the kitchen by maintaining high standards of quality, creativity, and efficiency in the Garde Manger station.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Cold Food Preparation:
Prepare and assemble a variety of cold dishes, such as salads, appetizers, and charcuterie.
Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's presentation and quality standards.
Station Organization:
Maintain a well-organized and clean Garde Manger station.
Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely preparation of cold dishes.
Quality Control:
Uphold high standards of food quality and presentation.
Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes.
Collaboration with Sous Chef:
Work closely with the Sous Chef to plan and execute menu items for the Garde Manger station.
Contribute creative ideas for new cold dishes and enhancements to existing menu items.
Inventory Management:
Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels for cold food items.
Notify the Sous Chef of any shortages or excesses.
Sanitation and Safety:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including equipment and surfaces.
Flexibility in Schedule:
Be available for flexible working hours, including some late nights and early mornings as required by the operation.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure seamless coordination during service.
Collaborate with other team members to meet overall kitchen objectives.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a Garde Manger or similar role.
Strong knowledge of cold food preparation techniques and presentation.
Creativity and an eye for detail in food presentation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Understanding of health and safety regulations.
