SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Safety Inspections and Audits:

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites to identify potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Document and report safety violations and recommend corrective actions.

Training and Communication:

• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees in both Mandarin and English.
• Conduct safety orientation sessions for new hires.
• Communicate safety policies and procedures clearly to all workers.

Incident Investigation:

• Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
• Prepare detailed reports of findings and recommend preventative measures.
• Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.

Safety Program Implementation:

• Support the implementation of company-wide safety initiatives and programs.
• Maintain and update safety records and documentation.
• Participate in the development of safety policies and procedures.

Emergency Preparedness:

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
• Conduct regular emergency drills and training sessions.
• Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and accessible.

Compliance Monitoring:

• Monitor compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Ensure that all safety signage and warnings are properly displayed.
• Assist in the preparation for safety audits by external agencies.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and other stakeholders to promote a safe working environment.
• Provide guidance and support to workers on safety-related issues.
• Act as a liaison between English-speaking management and Mandarin-speaking employees.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry.
• Minimum of 3 experience in conducting safety training and inspections.
• Must have a valid OSHA 30 certification
• Proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in construction, plumbing, or a related field is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry.
• 5 years experience in conducting safety training and inspections.
• CPR certification
• OSHA 510 certification
