we are looking for you as a(n) Consumables and Spare Parts Supervisor I.

We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking a Consumable and Spare Parts Supervisor for our site in Charleston, TN.

What you will do:

The Consumable and Spare Parts Supervisor will be responsible for strategic and tactical optimization of Consumables and Spare Parts for the Wacker Polysilicon Charleston Plant. This role will include the design of the dispositive processes and mapping in the system according to uniform criteria across locations; the creation of rolling forecasts of required operational materials to optimize the procurement process especially from German suppliers with long lead times; alignment with the Wacker Polysilicon Supply Chain group in Germany; and the design and creation of reports emphasizing auxiliary material costs and consumption while striving for potential manufacturing cost reduction. In addition, this role will initiate cost saving benchmarks that showcases Wacker's "Shape the Future" Program, as well as include the involvement in the master data management of auxiliary and operating materials.

  • Identification of disadvantageous dependencies triggering the initiation of competition through the investigation of new paths.
  • Manage and provide professional and disciplinary supervision of the group in accordance with company regulations, while ensuring that staff exercise independence performing their duties. Ensure an open and creative working atmosphere aimed at staff motivation and continuous improvement of all processes including proper training, development opportunities, and effectiveness.
  • Supervision / Inspection of incoming goods, identifying defects, approving / rejecting items, testing material composition; confirming that products are conforming to the documented specifications.
  • Plan, establish, coordinate, control, and monitor work processes in areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with operational and legal requirements regarding safety, environmental protection, and quality.
  • Ensure the supply of auxiliary and operating materials for the BD-P operations in CHA; specification, quantity planning, and work to effectively resolve complaints of operating supplies and auxiliaries.
  • Monitor, innovate, develop, and optimize conception of logistics processes regarding productivity / efficiency while adhering to global standardization.
  • Implementation of inventory controls, master data maintenance in the SAP environment, including key date inventories.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we need from you:

  • Minimum Associate's Degree; additional coursework in Business Administration and / or Operations Management.
  • 5 years in an operations or procurement management role with direct supervision responsibility of two or more employees.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading successful inventory control & planning initiatives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience in SAP or an equivalent ERP platform.
  • Analytical mindset, with a demonstrated ability to mine and compile data, transforming into relevant and meaningful information to develop business cases and support sound decisions and initiatives.
  • Experience in implementation of inventory optimization principles and theory (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma)
  • Negligible overnight travel; occasional travel to local off-site warehouse
  • Ability to work well in a matrixed, cross-functional, global organization.
  • Ability to foster a cohesive and harmonious relationship with team members and other departments.
  • Proficient with creation and design of material rolling forecasts.
  • Ability to "think outside of the box", driving solutions to problematic issues.
  • Knowledge of MES system preferred.
  • FTZ experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Prior logistics experience within a global organization is preferred.
