SageTech Resources is Hiring a Maintenance Planning & Systems Supervisor Near Houston, TX

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Planning & Systems Superintendent to oversee the maintenance workflow process and maximize the effectiveness of overall maintenance functions, including electrical and mechanical systems; and maintenance of production equipment, facilities, utilities, and grounds.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead maintenance planning operations, oversee the planner and warehouse clerk team, and ensure the protection of the environment, health, and safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Manage employee schedules and assign work for maintenance, electrical, and mechanical functions.
  • Collaborate with the management team to monitor onsite employees, make recommendations to enhance work quality, and promote safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight for all planning related to mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance to support daily operations.
  • Ensure the overall mechanical reliability of the facility, including fixed and rotating equipment, and buildings.
  • Identify and reduce or eliminate production losses and high maintenance cost assets to achieve objectives related to environmental, health, safety, asset capability, quality, and production.
  • Develop strategic preventative plans to resolve complex maintenance issues.
  • Establish and implement best practices for preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Maintain KPIs for facility performance.
  • Conduct root cause and failure analysis (RCFA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with management to effectively manage and evaluate the maintenance parts and labor budget.
  • Communicate with vendors to clarify job scope and obtain quotes for materials and services.
  • Champion mechanical integrity and quality assurance programs.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, and safety best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
  • Adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care requirements, demonstrating a commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability
  • to coordinate employees, teams, and departments with diverse skill sets at all levels of the organization.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations related to plant operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to understand and operate the systems and equipment used in the facility; perform and analyze various system checks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and safety procedures, including federal and state OSHA guidelines.
  • Demonstrated safety practices when using hand tools and hand power tools commonly used in maintenance tasks.
  • Strong understanding of properties, behaviors, and hazards of equipment.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to work independently if necessary, and confidence in leading and directing a team.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a similar field.
  • Ten years of experience in supervisory and leadership roles that combine technical, managerial, and financial expertise.
  • Experience creating maintenance plans, scheduling, and coordinating preventative maintenance and repair work, and new equipment installations.
  • Experience working in Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated facilities is preferred.
