Job Description:
As the Safety Manager & Compliance Officer at our organization, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing safety practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies across all aspects of our operations. You will be responsible for conducting safety-related activities, as well as developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs to promote a culture of safety and adherence to ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct Biweekly Toolbox Meetings:
    • Organize and lead biweekly toolbox meetings to discuss safety topics and promote best practices among employees.
    • Facilitate discussions on hazard identification, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
    • Distribute relevant safety materials and resources to educate employees on regulatory requirements and company policies.
  2. Perform Safety Compliance Inspections:
    • Conduct weekly job site inspections to monitor compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
    • Identify potential hazards and risks in the work environment and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
    • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
  3. Develop and Implement Compliance Policies and Procedures:
    • Collaborate with management to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
    • Ensure that compliance policies and procedures are communicated effectively to employees and integrated into daily operations.
  4. Provide Compliance Training and Education:
    • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards.
    • Ensure that all employees receive adequate training and resources to fulfill their compliance obligations effectively.
  5. Conduct Compliance Audits and Assessments:
    • Plan and conduct compliance audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required to address identified deficiencies.
  6. Monitor and Enforce Compliance Standards:
    • Monitor employee activities and business operations to detect and prevent potential compliance violations.
    • Investigate reported incidents of non-compliance and take appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  7. Maintain Compliance Records and Documentation:
    • Establish and maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety and compliance activities, including audit reports, training records, and incident investigations.
    • Ensure that all compliance documentation is properly organized, updated, and accessible for internal reviews and external audits.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) preferred.
  • Proven experience in safety management and compliance management, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and develop practical solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
