About the opportunity

The Sydney Executive Plus team is seeking an experienced learning content Research Officer to join their team. Working within this position you will undertake multiple bodies of creative work, researching complex concepts such as AI, impacts of hybrid working environments and net zero transition.


As a Research Officer you will work in an autonomous manner within the Sydney Executive Plus team, collaborating with academic staff to research and develop learning content targeted for an executive audience. Projects for Sydney Executive Plus at the University of Sydney will heavily rely on your creative input and the ability to quickly break down and comprehend complex materials presented as new education topics to you.


Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Research, write and edit scripts and documents that communicate learning content in an engaging and confident voice
  • Independently supports ongoing research capability in support of sprint development, business development, and stakeholder relationship management
  • carries out literary searches, collects academic papers, summarises literature, in collaboration with colleagues in the work area
  • decomposes complex ideas and literature from a variety of fields for use in a variety of content types
  • support the development of models and frameworks that help express complex ideas for a variety of audiences.


About you

  • Hold at minimum an undergraduate degree in one of the following areas; Journalism, arts, communications, business, English literature or writing
  • demonstrated experience writing research reports suited to a public or executive audience
  • demonstrated experience script writing or editing experience, or experience writing marketing copy
  • capacity to understand academic material, break down large amounts of information and work with metaphors
  • ability to form new creative and imaginative ideas when working on projects
  • able to work independently and self-manage projects to deadline and thrives working in a fast pace team.
