Responsibilities

*Evaluating patients' vital signs *Inserting medical equipment *Monitoring blood flow *Responding to side effects, like fainting or nausea *Measuring the correct amount of blood *Properly handling the equipment used for drawing specimens *Accurately entering data into a database *Correctly labeling vials with patient information and date of collection *Preparing and sending specimens to the lab
