Senior Chinese Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Chinese Analyst to build and lead a multi-functional team generating novel, cutting-edge analytic insight on complex issues related to China to directly support Pamir activities and customers. This position will design, employ, and manage a diverse array of advanced Chinese language collection and exploitation techniques in pursuit of actionable analytic insight. Responsibilities include curating the non-alerting collection of Chinese language materials through to high-quality analytic production and delivery to senior audiences.

Summary of Responsibilities:

· Designate strategic research, analytic, and technical collection priorities in close collaboration with technical staff 

· Identify new sources of publicly and commercially available information to drive innovative analysis

· Design and implement novel methodologies for obtaining analytic insight 

· Evaluate and refine analytic tradecraft practices and conclusions in a volatile information environment

· Present analytic findings to government and private-sector audiences 

· Train, mentor, and lead multi-functional teams of junior analysts and technical staff 

Experience and Expertise Required:

· Master’s degree

· 7 years of experience producing national security-related analysis using Chinese language skills

· 5 years of experience leading multi-functional teams of analysts and technical personnel to produce insightful, effective analysis

· Advanced Chinese reading skills, validated either by standardized testing scores (ILR 2 for reading) and/or by relevant work experience, writing samples, or references

· Subject matter expertise in publicly and commercially available information sources in China, as well as relevant topical aspects of China’s strategic development and activities

· Highly effective verbal and written communication skills

· Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Chinese language aid software (e.g., Wenlin, Pleco, machine translation)

· U.S. Citizenship and current Secret clearance required.
