Khepri Cafe is recognized as a concious coffee house in Albany Park, Chicago with new location opening August 2024 in Mt. Prospect. OPTION: To work at both locations.

Khepri Cafe is a forward thinking Scratch Kitchen Cafe that blends the natural benefits of cannabidiol (“CBD”) and healthy food options. The Cafe’s focus is offering a great selection of specialty drinks, coffees, teas, and healthy breakfast and lunch fare. Our second location will be open later, serve alcohol and host private events.

Khepri Cafe has a large retail section, grab and go food options host events in the evenings and on the weekends.

Barista/Cafe Staff (full-time and part-time)

The ideal candidate is already capable of full manual coffee bar operations for at least one year. A strong commitment to the guests experience and being solutions oriented are musts.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience of working in a coffee shop or restaurant.
• Be able to dial in espresso machine and serve a selection of coffee in a variety of different brewing methods including but not limited to: espresso, pour over, and cold brew.
• Efficiency in setting your grinder, making espresso and foam and texture milk for latte, cappuccinos and other beverage.
• Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds.
• Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends.
• Attentive to detail, responsible, and energetic
• Able to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

Essential Functions:

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, other beverages and certain food items to guests and provide consistent quality in the preparation and service of menu items.
• Assemble and prepare smoothies
• Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives, coffee makers, grinders and a cappuccino/espresso machine.
• Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the cafe.
• Ensure proper hand-washing and hygiene to protect food safety.
• Follow all regulations, policies, and procedures regarding food handling, personal hygiene, safety, and proper sanitation.
• Maintain a clean environment through regular cleaning, stocking, and organizing.
• Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of our Menu/Prices.
• Follow all standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing product.

Customer Service:

• Engage with customers and act as a brand ambassador for Khepri Cafe customer.
• Offer our guests an elevated coffee experience via extensive training, product and beverage knowledge, and superior customer service.
• Be knowledgeable about the products we offer and excited to answer guest questions,
• A desire to interact with our guests and bring positive energy is a must.
• Have a passion for providing warm, friendly and genuine service to our customers.
• Determine customers’ needs by asking questions and sharing product knowledge.
• Contribute to an overall positive and collaborative environment.
• Take pride in every aspect of your work and perform it with energy and enthusiasm.
• Keep a professional overall presentation, by modeling friendly, respectful and business-appropriate communication with coworkers and customers.
