Senior Attorney (Senior Associate or Counsel)

Our client is an international, London-based firm with practice areas ranked by Chambers and Best Lawyers both nationally and regionally across the country. Over the past decade, it has achieved an impressive compound average annual revenue growth of 15%, making it one of the fastest-growing law firms globally, with ambitious plans for further expansion.

The firm's New Jersey office is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel with substantial insurance coverage experience (title is flexible for the right fit).

THE POSITION

Candidates in this role can expect to:

Act independently and take a leadership role on their cases.

Interact with high level executives of major insurance companies.

Develop litigation strategy for insurance coverage litigation business disputes and class-actions.

Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.

Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Conduct insurance examinations under oath.

Work with investigators and experts.

Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.

Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.

Provide strategic legal advice to clients and colleagues.

Supervise the work of associates and paralegals and contribute to their professional development.

Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of client relationships.

Required qualifications:

JD from an accredited law school.

License to practice law in New York.

10 years insurance coverage litigation experience, particularly with commercial GL policies.

COMPENSATION

This is a full-time, benefitted position. Because this role is open to a range of experience levels, target base salary range is wide and starts at $180,000/ year. Final offer will be dependent on relevant experience and seniority.
