Bespak is a pharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) that offers development and manufacturing solutions for a variety of medications, including medical devices such as pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDI), soft mist inhalers (SMI), dry powder inhalers (DPI), nasal sprays and medical check valves.

Our research and development facility in Research Triangle Park, NC, USA is seeking a Commercial Manager to join our Global Commercial Management Team. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and drive successful and profitable business relationships between the Company and its customers (in both development and commercial phases).
  • Ensure great collaboration with the responsible Account Manager(s) to generate value for Bespak.
  • Serve as Account Manager for allocated customers taking into consideration both site perspective and Bespak perspective.
  • Actively sell the capabilities of Bespak to current customers including anticipating trends, new acquisitions, and prospective work on the Customer portfolio.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop proposal writing staff as required.
  • Provide leadership to proposal team with a focus on professional development and performance management. May include management of direct reports.
  • Monitor development agreements and renew according to established times. Ensure compliance to both the explicit and implied terms of commercial and contractual agreements to internal teams.
  • Manage pricing with current customers to maintain high profitability and alignment with Company expectations.
  • Serve as key contact at the site for new opportunities such as request for proposal or request for quotation, mainly received through Business Development.
  • Ensure that each proposal is delivered on time and in full including key documents such as Business Case and Quotations. Remain as the key contact at least until such point that a project team is formed.
  • Liaise with all Bespak sites and coordinate proposal writing activities as agreed with Commercial leadership. Negotiation agreements to be drafted with collaboration from key stakeholders and must be in compliance with internal policies and practices.
  • Liaise with Business Development and coordinate site activities to provide competitive and profitable commercial proposals in-line with customer requests.
  • Ensure that customer project related assessments, costing assumptions, capital expenditure and quotations are kept and reevaluated at key stages of the projects.
  • Ensure that a sufficient final assessment of the project is performed as well as after 6-12 months or relevant timing required to evaluate business as usual set-up. Lessons learned to be shared in accordance with sites and Company expectations.
  • Actively identify and lead continuous development and improvement of commercial working methods and processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7 years of experience in a pharmaceutical industry environment.
  • Strong decision making and influencing abilities.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of various software programs, such as Workfront or MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Prior experience reviewing and providing detailed financial information (sales forecasts, demand plans etc.).
  • Ability to build relations and interact effectively in an international corporate business setting.
  • Experience with working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pharmaceutical CMO/CDMO experience with Customer interaction.
  • Experience building reports and dashboards for both customer, project, and portfolio level information.

Physical Requirements

The employee must possess the ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours a day and carry up to 25 pounds. This position involves repetitive motion of the arm, wrist, hand and fingers with the ability to feel and handle work materials for up to 8 hours per day. The position also requires the ability to carry out tasks involving extensive reaching, crouching and bending. Day to day tasks may involve handling of and the ability to identify hazardous chemicals and materials.
