Acculon Energy is Hiring an Embedded Software Engineer Near Columbus, OH

Based in Columbus, OH, our mission is to deliver high-performance, innovative battery solutions that meet the dynamic needs of our global clients. As we expand our operations, we are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to ensure the excellence and reliability of our advanced energy storage solutions.

We’re looking for someone with experience architecting, developing, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting embedded software on microcontrollers like STM32, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi. These systems are the heart of safety-critical products like battery management systems and battery charging systems.

Responsibilities

  • Writing and maintaining code for microcontrollers and related peripherals in embedded systems such as battery management systems and related energy management systems
  • Testing, debugging, and troubleshooting these systems
  • Working alongside other developers, hardware engineers, and mechanical engineers on integration of the systems into the product
  • Maintaining, supporting, and improving systems after initial delivery

Qualifications

  • Experience developing low-level software (basic software, drivers, bootloaders) for embedded systems
  • Extensive knowledge of C and Python
  • Familiarity with integrating code from multiple sources (e.g. Simulink generated code) into a single project
  • Experience with low-level microcontroller development (STM32, ESP32), RTOS (FreeRTOS), and hardware abstraction layer usage
  • Experience with peripherals and communication protocols such as SPI, CAN, I2C, RS-485, and Ethernet
  • Experience with hands-on testing and debugging code on a bench setup using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG probes, etc.
  • Familiarity with reading datasheets, schematics, and other technical documentation
  • Experience managing source code with Git and GitLab
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Experience providing post-production technical support
