About the Position:TJFACT is seeking a well-qualified Executive Resources (ER) Senior Executive and Political Personnel Specialist to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington, DC.
The Specialist will be involved in the performance review board (PRB) processes for bonuses and pay increases at the end of the SES rating cycle and ensure that payouts are accurate and timely. Preparing documents for special projects, such as requesting dual compensation waivers from OPM, preparing special one-time SES reports for high level DOJ management, and handling sensitive situations dealing with employee relations issues with political appointees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Track PAS confirmation, SES non-career appointees and Schedule C positions in the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) Executive and Schedule C System.
  • Write and maintain files of position descriptions, prepare materials for executive resources board meetings and appointment packages.
  • Support the federal appointment and separation process.
  • Assist in preparing justifications for special act and rank awards.
  • Prepare related reports and assist in the performance management process for executives.
  • Assist in the SES allocation process of slots for DOJ entities.
  • Work on the OPM biennial process for requesting additional SES allocations as they relate to political positions.
  • Work with DOJ entities in tracking SES slots and reporting in various ways.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of highly technical experience related to human resources management in the field of executive and political personnel.
  • Experience with computer technology, equipment, and software used in an office environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and other programs operating on a Microsoft Office platform.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal human resources policy and procedures as it relates to executive and political personnel.
  • Verifiable ability to communicate orally and in writing and to implement instructions.
