We are currently looking for a Junior Technical Project Engineer to join our team based in Plano, TX, USA. This role offers a hybrid work setup, allowing for partial remote work.
As a Junior Technical Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and guiding software product development efforts encompassing multiple complex components. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, QA, and devops, you will ensure seamless integration and alignment with project objectives. Your responsibilities involve identifying solution gaps, engaging in high-level discussions on technical approaches, and crafting detailed technical specifications for new feature user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
You will serve as an advocate for the development team, facilitating scrum ceremonies, managing technical debt effectively, and working closely with project management to prioritize the backlog based on project and customer needs. Throughout development cycles, you will be the primary contact for developers and engineering leads, fostering a collaborative environment and optimizing project delivery.
Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and collaborate on software product development with multiple complex components.
• Identify solution gaps and engage in high-level technical discussions.
• Write detailed technical specifications for new feature user stories and define technical acceptance criteria.
• Advocate for the development team and assist in managing technical debt/chore tasks.
• Guide and facilitate scrum ceremonies and engage with stakeholders.
• Prioritize backlog items based on project and customer needs together with product management.
• Serve as the primary contact for developers and engineering leads during development cycles.
• Embrace Agile principles and methodologies, being open to adapting to how Agile Scrum practices are implemented within the team.

Your profile

• Relevant field expertise; a bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification is an asset.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, engineering methodologies, and tools.
• Passion for collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve customer problems.
• Ability to communicate requirements from both a user and technical perspective.
• Highly organized with attention to detail, initiative, and personal accountability.
• Familiarity with cloud-based software development concepts at a high level.
• Ability to describe what a web application is and its basic components.
• Understanding of client-server architecture.
• High level understanding or experience with some languages or frameworks (eg. Django, Java/JEE, React, Firebase, JavaScript, Python, RESTful API's, JSON, Swift, SwiftUI, CI tools such as CodeBuild, GitHub, Git, web hosting platforms e.g. Amazon AWS, UX design, experience with iOS, MacOS - An asset
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assist in project rollouts, such as coordinating the shipment of iPads to customers.
