**Job Overview:**
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator to join our team and support our mission of enhancing mental wellness.
The Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and delivering high-quality care to our patients.
This role involves both clinical and administrative duties, requiring excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
**Duties:**
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring all necessary forms and information are completed accurately.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage the schedule, and facilitate timely follow-ups to ensure smooth patient flow
- Coordinate insurance verification, billing, and payment processes.
- Provide support with medication management, including prescriptions, prior-authorizations and refills.
- Handle patient inquiries, provide information about services, and assist with appointment scheduling.
- Manage patient records, update medical histories and ensure accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage and handling.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the clinic’s operations.
**Skills/Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably in a psychiatric or mental health clinic.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
-Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorization, billing processes, and medical terminology.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in medical office software and electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Strong patient service orientation with the ability to provide compassionate care.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
