Job Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Commercial Painting Contractor
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team at our client company, a leading commercial painting contractor. The CFO will play a crucial role in our client’s financial management, strategic planning, and overall growth. This executive position involves overseeing the financial operations, developing financial strategies, managing financial risks, and ensuring the financial health of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving efficiency and profitability within the construction or contracting industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Job Duties
Strategic Financial Planning:
· Develop long-term financial strategies in alignment with the company's goals.
· Prepare and review financial models to support strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
· Lead the annual budgeting process and regular financial forecasting.
· Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, initiating corrective actions as needed.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
· Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.
· Oversee tax planning and compliance to optimize tax liabilities.
Cash Flow and Liquidity Management:
· Manage the company’s cash flow and liquidity, ensuring sufficient funds for operations and growth.
· Develop policies for credit control and managing receivables.
Cost Control and Efficiency:
· Implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
· Work with project managers to control project costs and improve margins.
Debt and Capital Management:
· Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
· Negotiate terms of debt and oversee the management of existing loans and lines of credit.
Risk Management:
· Identify financial risks and implement risk management strategies.
· Ensure appropriate insurance coverage for the company and its assets.
Leadership and Team Management:
· Lead the finance team, providing direction and support in their roles.
· Collaborate with other senior managers to drive the company’s overall strategy.
Operational Support:
· Provide financial insights and analysis to support operational decision-making.
· Evaluate and improve financial and operational systems and processes.
Qualifications:
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position based at our corporate office, with occasional travel to project sites and meetings with financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders as required.
