  • Room the patients and collects a thorough past medical history and history of present illness.
  • Thoroughly completes a medication reconciliation to have a current and an accurate medication list for the nurse practitioner to review.
  • Effectively manages time and prioritizes tasks.
  • Provides appropriate, individualized and safe care to patients using evidenced based nursing processes.
  • Demonstrates the ability to look ahead to upcoming well care visits and plan accordingly.
  • Demonstrates age-specific proficiency in the task of initial and ongoing nursing assessments of the patient to determine and prioritize care based on needs.
  • Executes nursing care activities according to patient needs, or as directed by the nurse practitioner, in accordance with the company's published policies and procedures.
  • Assists nurse practitioners with office procedures, to include assembling of supplies, medications and instruments; assists with procedure as permitted by scope of practice; facilitation of time outs and informed consents.
  • Problem-solve during several daily activities which includes the ability to be flexible
  • Learn and proficiently navigate through the electronic medical record, AthenaHealth
  • Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with providers, fellow team members, and patients.
  • Independently recognizes knowledge gaps and seeks out the resources necessary to fill the gaps. Whether that be independent research and/or learning from the provider.
  • Personally motivated to ensure the work space remains clean, not only at the start but also throughout the shift.
  • Every third weekend commitment
Qualifications
  • A graduate of an accredited school with a current Nebraska or compact state license, required with at least a year of nursing experience
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of using a personal computer and electronic medical records
