**Child Care Aide 1 (Substitute), NS (CSEA-Inst)**

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with students and staff, follow written and spoken instructions, and relate to the students being supervised. Incumbents must be in good health, good physical condition, and able to perform moderate to heavy lifting of children and participate in physical activities such as swimming.

Special consideration will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

* An associate degree or higher in the Human Services field;

* Experience as a Nurses Aide;

* Skilled in sign language;

* Possession of, or willing to secure, an Article 19A School Bus Driver certification;

* Experience in behavior modification, orientation, and mobility;

* Certification in water safety, CPR, first aid, advanced first aid, or EMT; or

* Demonstrated skills working with students who are multiply disabled.
