PFERD North America is Hiring a PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (3RD SHIFT) Near Milwaukee, WI

We are a worldwide leader in manufacturing abrasives, brushes and power tools that are used in the metalworking industry.The Production Supervisor role will be responsible for leading and directing our Production team. 3rd shift production hours are currently Sunday - Thursday (10:30PM - 6:30AM). This position will be responsible to ensure that daily productivity and quality requirements are being met along with emphasizing safety amongst the workers. Other responsibilities include hiring, training, and accountability to keep production flow and gain bottom-line results.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Delegates assignments to Production Workers on a daily basis.
  • Inspects the progress of workers' assignments daily.
  • Ensures products are properly packed and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Ensures production workers perform inspections for each order, in accordance with quality control standards and order requirements.
  • Ensures complete documentation of parts inspected on appropriate paperwork as required.
  • Ensures production equipment sets up's are completed as required.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate individuals.
  • Ensures materials required for each order are available and properly prepared, and orders materials as needed.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications.
  • Ensure all ISO procedures are being followed and that all work instructions are kept current and being used by all production staff.
  • Ensure all labor and production data is reported and entered correctly into the computer.
  • Manages personnel-related matters of production workers as needed.
  • Coordinates with Production Planner/Buyer for work order releases.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Act as the lead for your team's continuous improvement activities.
  • Advocate for teams' ability to operate safely.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree with a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment, with 1-2 years of supervisory or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with identifying and troubleshooting technical issues with production machines is highly preferred
  • Demonstrate knowledge of personal computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP
  • ADP experience is a plus
  • Ability to identify problems, propose solutions
  • Ability to multitask to track products at all stages of manufacturing
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and work well with others
  • Project management ability
  • Speed, resourcefulness, team player with a go-getter attitude
