Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Mechanic is to maintain building and all facility equipment to ensure the safety of all employees and efficiently operate and maintain production schedules. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible in assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment as well as troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment
In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
Skilled in analyzing information and creating reports
Proactive mindset to carry out checks and routine inspections.
Manage time to execute routine activities as well as respond to unexpected equipment issues.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Attention to detail.
Excellent problem solving ability.
Excellent organizational skills.
Basic electrical skills are necessary.
Knowledge of 110/220/440 high voltage and understanding of low voltage processor boards.
Safety for all employees is paramount to the job.
Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Technical Skills - Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; Shares expertise with others.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Mechanic is to maintain building and all facility equipment to ensure the safety of all employees and efficiently operate and maintain production schedules. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible in assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment as well as troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Understanding, troubleshooting PLC’s to properly analyze and provide efficient corrective actions/repairs.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices/machines/equipment in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Follows industry best practices, SOPs, LOTO procedures, and other safety guidelines.
- Logs performed maintenance work through either paper documentation or developed CMMS.
- Maintains a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
