As a Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the quality control and inspection units of the company to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Your role involves strategic planning, team development, and ensuring efficient and effective operations. Additionally, you will implement APQP processes, manage CMM operations, and oversee PPAP documentation, with a strong focus on automotive manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control and Inspection:
  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for precise measurements.
  • Analyze quality control test results and provide reports.
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP):
  • Lead APQP activities for new product development.
  • Ensure that all APQP documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet quality milestones.
  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP):
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of PPAP documentation.
  • Ensure PPAP compliance with customer and industry standards.
  • Maintain records of all PPAP submissions and approvals.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead, train, and mentor the quality control team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Automotive Manufacturing:
  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and certifications.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives specific to automotive manufacturing.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Educational/Technical Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field; additional certifications (CQI, Six Sigma, etc.) are a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in quality control and management within the automotive manufacturing industry.

Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of APQP, CMM, and PPAP processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to perform inspections and audits.
