GIL FAMILY ESTATES – Regional Sales Director - West

Gil Family is a 106-year-old Spanish Wine Company. It is a well-financed, family-owned company that is focused exclusively on Spain. The company is made up of 11 Modern Estate Wineries that encompass 10 different Top DOs located all over Spain. The family has been Organically Farming their 4,400 Acres of vineyards for decades and has a large portion certified organic with a goal of 100% certification by 2025. Our Key focus is on indigenous varietals and old vines with an estimated average vine age of 60-65 years old

Employment Requirements:

College BA or master’s degree

5 Years of Wine Industry Regional Sales Management

An understanding of all of the states in the region, including Wine Alcohol Laws

Strong Wine Knowledge of all Key Categories and Major Wine Producing Countries

Complete Understanding of the Regional Wholesaler Landscape (Key Relationships Preferred)

Complete Understanding of Large On & Off Premise Corporate Restaurant and Retail Chain Landscape (Key Relationships Preferred)

Detailed Understanding of the Wholesale Direct Importing Process, including all Logistics

Inventory and Vintage Management

Detailed Pricing: All States, Taxes, Freight Rates, Channels, Quantity Discounts, RIPs, Military, Transportation, etc

Budgeting & Budget Management

Management of Distributor House Banks for Incentives, Pricing Supports, Inventory, and Special Promotions

Technological Skill Set: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, WebEx, etc.

Analytical Skills: Using Wholesaler in-house systems (Example) Micro Strategies RNDC etc., also VIP (GFE’s reporting system) to find conclusions and develop solutions.

Presentation Skills: Customer and Wholesaler Business & Planning Review Presentations – Annual, Quarterly, H-1, etc. 

Ability to Perform a Successful National New Item or Brand Launch

Strategically Lay Out Annual Regional Brand Plans and Priority Calendar

Create, Schedule, and Perform Market Blitzes and Market Surveys (audit distribution, pricing, displays, POS, WL and BTG)

Continue Distributor Training and Fine Tune Spanish/Gil Family Education Program (32 Distributors 2,488 Personnel Trainings Completed to date in the US)

Continue to Leverage 100% Paid for Distributor GFE Spain Trip Incentive Programs for Volume and New Distribution (53 Trips in Motion H-2 2022 for the US)

Estimated Annual Travel 35-50%
