Who are we? 

Silver Lion Innovations is a startup medical device company which exists to transform the lives of people facing immobility across multiple health conditions and the people involved in their care. We’ve seen this first-hand as our first product is inspired by a close family member of the founder who has Parkinson’s. Healthcare systems globally need innovative technologies created by people using them so that they can continue the care for the growing number of those requiring it.

At Silver Lion Innovations, we have reimagined a key care service with a game changing new technology and we need excellent, stand out people on board to deliver the first in a range of products.

Position Overview

You will be responsible for gathering data from our hardware, interpreting and finding patterns in the data, then creating algorithms to make our product intelligent. Your contribution to our product and development roadmap will be significant and the finished product will have your stamp on it. Most importantly, it will change the lives of people who suffer with lifelong health conditions. Chances are, you know someone who would benefit from the product.

What we're looking for from you:

• Degree/PhD level qualification in related area or a degree with mathematical content and programming skills
• Relevant experience (ideally postdoctoral or industrial) in robotics, data fusion, tracking/estimation, pattern discovery & recognition, statistical inference, optimisation and machine/deep learning algorithms along with real-time implementation, and/or validation & verification is a strong advantage
• Experience in Python including PyTorch (higher level languages/tools like Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, LabView are also OK but should include the ability to easily translate to programming languages like Python, .NET, C etc)
• High level of discipline in data storing and analytics
• Positive attitude towards overcoming challenges and finding innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Be able to self-motivate and be comfortable with being given autonomy to make decisions.

Specific knowledge or experience that are nice to haves: please let us know which applies to you

• Robotics, guidance and autonomous decision making, e.g. co-ordinated guidance and control, decision theory, decision support systems
• Machine Learning for pattern recognition/discovery problems e.g. Gaussian processes, probabilistic/statistical models, novelty detection 
• Deep Learning e.g. Deep reinforcement learning, Monte-Carlo tree search, deep regression/classification 
• AWS or similar cloud platform knowledge 
• UI/UX design & development
• Software/programing skills
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
