Fassmer Service America LLC is in it’s 16th year of operation, and has continued its growth during the pandemic. Fassmer Service America is looking for bright energetic engineers to become part of our team. Please see the description below.
SERVICE ENGINEER
- Service Engineer to work in the certification and repair of lifeboats, davits, accommodation ladder and gangways in accordance to IMO codes and Fassmer standards.
- Must be an energetic person with good mechanical skills.
- Desired skill sets- mechanical aptitude, familiar with vessel/rig operations, team player, high manual dexterity, personable, problem solver, willing to travel, reliable and have the ability to follow instructions.
- This position requires extensive travel around the globe.
- Due to the shipping nature of our customers, employee are expected to work on holidays according to the posted schedule.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent desired
- Must be able to work a 12 hour day and be capable of carrying 50 lbs. of tools up 120 steps. Must be able to fit and work in the confined space of a lifeboat.
- Required to pass a physical and drug test
- Fassmer is a drug free work place with random drug testing.
- Duties include but are not limited to
- Working Safe in accordance with ISO 9001 and all safety rules. Must always wear proper PPE accordingly.
- Job preparation preparing all tools, parts, equipment, provisions, PPE, clothing, paperwork, customer information, destination, logistics, communication with agent and anything else that may be required before departing for job.
- Perform job duties to Fassmer Service America’s high quality standard. Duties include annual and 5 year inspections on life saving equipment. The safe and proper operation of our equipment is paramount
- Report any nonconformance to the person in charge immediately
- Produce a condition report on board the vessel or rig to give to the onboard personnel either in paper or electronically before departing the vessel. Exceptions must be explained.
- If a problem arise that cannot be solved onboard SE must call for office support regardless of the time.
- Is responsible to be on time for scheduled flights or scheduled travel and job site
- Must have clean hygiene as work take place in close quarters with coworkers.
- Service Engineer must work in the spirit of Fassmer Service America and present him/herself in this manner to customers and coworkers.
- Must have the right to work in the US to apply for this role,
- Salary dependent upon experience
- Company paid expenses, Medical Dental Vision plan and 401K once eligible
