Qualifications/Experience:
Current Minnesota Special Ed license in ASD, SLD, or EBD.
Successful background check required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:
Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports; and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and parents. Calm demeanor and passion for working with kids. Ability to communicate effectively with school staff and parents.
Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty.
Specific Tasks:
Provide special education services to students. The teacher will work closely with teachers, admin and support staff to teach students skills and strategies for managing behaviors and working towards using strategies in the mainstream setting. Provide an ideal, positive learning environment, instruct students in individual or group sessions, develop, translate and integrate lesson plans, and establish positive relationships. 7.5 hours/day
