Join our team as a Linux Systems Administrator supporting network monitoring system planning, installation, commissioning, site surveys, and troubleshooting for Illuminate's solutions serving the US national security community and allies. Illuminate provides analytic and cyber solutions enabling critical decisions from vast data sources. We seek a talented, customer-facing professional to provide technical guidance on key projects locally and in the field, working independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain various technical equipment, including server components and software, manage virtual servers and integrate automation processes
• Supervise performance of systems and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, running diagnostics, documenting problems, prioritizing resolutions, and assessing associated risks
• Provide local and remote support, troubleshooting and system administration support for field deployed systems and customer lab facilities
• Locations for equipment installation are international and requires travel

Qualifications

• Active or current TS/SCI (Poly preferred)
• Ability to obtain a medical clearance.
• Ability to complete short-term international travel.
• Linux / Unix system administration experience.
• At least four (4) years of relevant work experience in a systems administration role with two (2) years of relevant technical experience. 
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and solving problems in complex communications systems.
• Ability to identify and analyze functional and operational requirements and develop solutions to satisfy emerging needs.
• Experience with hands-on rack-and-stack installation, commissioning and maintenance of servers and systems.
• Create installation guides and as-built documentation.
• Experience working directly with development team to resolve software and hardware problems; and, applying software and hardware patches
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, NAT, routing and switching 
• Experience with firewall and VPN configuration 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of mobile telecom network architectures and related hardware, software, and protocols.
• Knowledge of the theory and principles of telecommunications (i.e., SS7, telco subsystems design/architecture/implementation/configuration.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
• College degree, in some cases, can be substituted by work experience.
• Experience with analyzing logs, stack traces, debug libraries, software/hardware.
• Possesses an understanding of Python and Bash.
• Related OS and security certifications.
