The Role

two ten eight is seeking to hire a Sales and Business Director to play a leadership role in building the digital marketing agency and further powering its growth. The ideal candidate will be a digital marketing trailblazer, a thought leader with a proven track record of successfully developing and managing a business base. The individual in this role will be responsible for business development, day-to-day operations, overseeing the growth and leading the agency’s fast growing business.

The Responsibilities

Leadership Management

• Building the agency with significant growth
• Thought leader on social media and social commerced trends and strategies
• Oversee and understand the financial objectives and actual performance

Client Service & Account Management

• Acquire new clients in the DACH region and beyond
• Manage profitability for existing clients, including account retention and staff billability
• Lend support and direction to help individuals and teams realize their full potential while ensuring profitability, growth and creativity to clients
• New Business
• Drive significant growth
• Respond directly to new business opportunities
• Play a leadership role in building two ten eight into a top-tier offering
• Be omnipresent in the market and promote two ten eight’s China-focussed digital marketing, content marketing, e-commerce and social media services
• Plan and effectively execute new business strategies for the agency

People Development

• Lead and manage the performance of the teams in Munich and Shanghai
• Sustain the agency's growth by attracting and selecting staff, jointly with the managing director of our Chinese subsidiary
• Develop people through coaching, mentoring, and active team leadership

Your Qualifications

• Proven track record of successfully building an agency’s practice as an industry leader
• Senior strategist sought out by clients to provide counsel
• Bachelor’s degree, Masters’ degree considered a plus
• Minimum of 5 years digital marketing experience, account management and sales, including team development and P&L responsibility in an agency environment
• Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations
• Previous experience working in China and/or an understanding of the Chinese digital landscape would be a great plus, but is not required
• Willingness to travel regularly
• Fluent or mother-tongue level English and German, Chinese would be a great plus but is not required
