The Madison Collective is Hiring a Director of Food and Beverage Near Los Angeles, CA

We are confidentially seeking a Director of Food and Beverage. You will work directly with the Food and Beverage Management company and the Corporate Director of Operations to oversee the food and beverage programs at a beautiful, upscale boutique hotel in Los Angeles.

The Director of F&B (DOFB) will be responsible for providing support and strategic direction to the overall food and beverage functions of the hotel including a full service restaurant, lobby bar and hotel banquets. Additionally, this person will develop programming, training, and standards, while leading key projects to successful implementation and completion.

The DOFB will effectively oversee the Food and Beverage operations to ensure achievement of overall financial results, increased profitability, and guest and ownership satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Work closely with Corporate Director of Operations to establish scope, timelines, and definition of success for key projects related to business plans and profitability. Once outlined, this role will be responsible for personally overseeing many of these projects to completion.
  • Training: Work collaboratively with Corporate Director of Operations to develop and implement training for all hospitality and culinary staff. Ensuring all brand and department specific training requirements are met, and training is documented and retained.
  • Service Standards: Monitors Food and Beverage service at the hotel. Monitors secret shopper, and other service score/customer feedback programs and reporting, and makes recommendations based on findings. Performs regular on-site inspections of Food and Beverage operations for evaluation, training and support. Works collaboratively with Corporate Director of Operations, Managers, and Hotel General Manager to determine and implement proper service strategy.
  • Product and Brand Standards: Directs the development of appropriate Hospitality Standards for current destination restaurant, as well as In-Room Dining.
  • Programming Leadership: Manage and drive change via business development programming. Act as a resource for Food and Beverage professionals across the property..

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10 years of progressive Food and Beverage management experience at a senior level in back of the house and front of the house operations, independent restaurant experience, as well as catering, banquets and general hotel responsibilities.
  • Former Hotel F&B Director experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong professional presence.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to affect change through influence.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong mentoring and team development skills.
