Your Role

As a Business Development Specialist you will be instrumental in working with our Sales team on generating high quality leads and opportunities. You will liaise with other teams as needed (e.g., sales, marketing, customer management).

What You Would Be Responsible For

  • Update accurate lead information into our Salesforce CRM system.
  • Make outbound calls to both existing and ‘bought in’ databases of marketing prospects.
  • Capitalize on the inbound marketing lead nurturing program.
  • Respond to inbound queries (including calls, emails, website enquiry forms) within defined KPI targets.
  • Follow-up and manage leads generated from conferences and events.
  • Use relevant social media, particularly LinkedIn to generate leads.
  • Build beneficial relationships with potential and existing customers.
  • Provide feedback on effectiveness of marketing campaigns to improve performance.
  • Handover leads effectively to the sales teams including reporting and tracking of outcomes.

Key Sales Performance Indicators Include

  • Number of prospect calls and emails per day
  • Number of quality leads & opportunities generated per month
  • Accuracy of input of information into Salesforce
  • Effective and appropriate prospect engagement

Experience You Bring

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Previous experience in the financial services industry an asset.
  • Demonstrable success in telesales, telemarketing or tele-research roles.
  • B2B Telemarketing experience preferred, though strong experience in other areas may be considered.
  • Experienced in calling professional or corporate firms.
  • Effective in exposing prospects’ key business drivers and matching these to company capabilities.
  • Sufficient analytical experience to complete research that identifies relevant prospect information.
  • Experience of working with contact databases (CRM systems; Salesforce preferred).
  • Understanding of marketing channels for lead generation, e.g. web, email, direct response, social media etc.
  • Commercially minded with experience of working to achieve targets.
  • Professional phone manner with a consultative approach and tone of voice.
  • Confident in overcoming sales objections and communicating solution value.
  • Ability to set and execute challenging goals daily.
  • Proven computer skills essential including Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce CRM (preferable).
