MHP Structural Engineers is Hiring a Director of Business Development Near Long Beach, CA
MHP is currently seeking a Director of Business Development to join our Long Beach office. The focus of this position is to serve as “the face of MHP” and build strategic relationships with architects, design-build contractors, and owners and consultants to ensure MHP has the market intelligence and relationships to be included on winning project teams. The ideal candidate will be personable and resourceful with strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong understanding of the AEC industry. While leading business development efforts, this position will research market trends across education, healthcare, housing, and commercial sectors. While special attention to the Long Beach, Los Angeles, and San Diego markets is necessary, targeted growth will include expanding MHP’s project base throughout the state and Pacific Northwest
Externally, this position will facilitate Principal-to-Principal and BD-to-BD relationship development between MHP and prospective clients while overseeing and nurturing existing client relationships. In addition, attending industry mixers, conferences, MHP sponsored events and networking opportunities is required.
Internally, this position will coordinate with marketing to generate collateral to target trends across various sectors while ensuring MHP is displayed to the best of its ability. This position will also work directly with Principals and Project Managers to understand the company’s strategic business goals and be in the know of project milestones.
MHP is looking for an organized and efficient leader with a strong eye for detail to represent MHP on a larger scale.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred
- Typically requires five years’ experience in direct B2B development and sales
- Sales Management experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, LinkedIn, Vantagepoint (CRM), and IMS
- Proven record of obtaining new client relationships
- 5 years’ experience in Architectural, Structural Engineering & related fields.
