The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and self-starting Energy Efficiency Account Manager to join our growing team. This role requires a deep understanding of building systems and energy efficiency strategies, with a specific focus on commercial buildings in New Jersey. You will work closely with clients to assess their energy needs, develop custom solutions, and guide them through the implementation process.

Responsibilities:

  • The Energy Project Coordinator will provide field support for targeted outreach and lead generation for commercial and industrial businesses.
  • Conduct comprehensive energy audits for commercial buildings, identifying opportunities for energy savings and cost reductions.
  • Develop and present customized energy efficiency recommendations to clients, including financial analysis and payback periods.
  • Support clients throughout the project lifecycle, from initial assessment to project completion and post-implementation monitoring.
  • Manage relationships with customers, screening incoming leads and collaborating on projects when necessary.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with commercial businesses and help generate/qualify leads.
  • Submit and manage project paperwork on behalf of VBS to the Utility.
  • Stay current on the latest energy efficiency trends, technologies, and incentive programs in New Jersey.
  • Participate in industry events and workshops to network with potential clients and partners.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and outreach strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 3-5 years of relevant experience. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in energy efficiency, ideally focused on commercial buildings.
  • 3 years of experience in outreach, sales, or another customer-facing role in the buildings or energy efficiency sector or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, HVAC, lighting, and electrical components.
  • Proficient in energy modeling software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel - workbooks, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Working knowledge of New Jersey energy efficiency programs and incentives.
