The Eastern Yacht Club is Hiring an Event Coordinator Near Marblehead, MA

Job Title: Event Coordinator

Type of Position: Part-time and full-time opportunities.

Compensation: $25-$30/hour

Reports to: Director of Events

Job Description: 

The Eastern Yacht Club, located in Marblehead, is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Event Coordinator to join our team. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of events hosted at our club. The Event Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Events and other staff members to deliver exceptional experiences to our membership. Events hosted include: weddings, baby showers, bridal brunches, wine dinners, galas, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for event planning and hospitality to gain valuable experience in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. This position is expected to work 30 hours a week. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring all necessary AV equipment and food & beverage supplies are readily available.
  • Act as a point of contact for event staff, providing guidance and assistance as needed to ensure seamless execution.
  • Greet and assist guests upon arrival, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to facilitate deliveries and resolve any logistical issues that may arise.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces throughout the duration of each event.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Events to ensure all event details are executed according to plan.
  • Provide administrative support, such as managing banquet event orders and preparing event materials.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in event support or food & beverage service preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Comfortable working both indoor and outdoors. 
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Prismm are a plus.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an event/hospitality setting.
