Job Description

The Construction Manager provides the onsite leadership, coordination, and direction for construction management activities. Duties include ensuring the project is on budget, schedule, and the design fits the requirements for the contract. May supervise field administrative staff, Field/Project Engineers or Coordinators and/or assistant Construction Managers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Providing construction management services on multiple or complex projects

· Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements parking structures and other types of building and facilities.

· Responsible as onsite liaison with contractor and oversight of progress of construction

· Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities

· Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures or as required by the client.

· Conduct project meetings and provide meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information

· Ensure contractors, architects, and engineers will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment

· Provide management of project logistics, organization, and safety.

· Ensure project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner, including closeout requirements.

· Perform other duties as required to ensure project success.

· This is an onsite position in Santa Monica, CA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required (Relevant construction management experience in place of education may be considered)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager is required.
  • Experience with K-14 Education projects in California.
  • Ability to handle multiple contractors and multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices are required.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related Construction Management systems are required.
  • Ability to handle multiple contractors and multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously is required.
  • Experience using alternate delivery methods and multi-prime project delivery preferred.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $110,00.000-$135,000.00 DOE.
