Financial and business planning intern
Medical Benevolence Foundation (MBF) is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to transforming lives by building sustainable medical ministries in developing countries. Through long-term partnerships, MBF equips the indigenous church with tools and resources that allow them to meet the health care needs of their community and to share the Gospel. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial and Business Planning Intern will provide financial, planning, analytical and administrative assistance to the CFO and CEO as directed. The scope of the finance area includes financial processing and accounting, management of a federal American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) grant, coordinating the process to ship medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to our international partners and business planning and budgeting. This position is based in MBF’s Houston area home office.
This position will work collaboratively and collegially with all MBF staff; follow the guidelines and policies of MBF; ensure personal and professional conduct reflects the ethical standards and religious values of MBF.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
BUSINESS PLANNING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
FINANCIAL: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, CASH APPLICATIONS AND PAYROLL
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING, PLANNING AND CONTROLS
Assist CFO with:
ASHA GRANT MANAGEMENT:
QUALIFICATIONS:
S/BA degree is a requirement
Previous financial and business planning experience is preferred
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters and to focus under pressure
Experience with all Microsoft Office products is a requirement
Preferred experience using software applications including accounting, planning, revenue management and other data-based software applications
Project a professional demeanor as well as using tact when dealing with others
Strong organizational, analytical, multitasking, communication, and time management skills
Demonstrates drive and initiative, creativity, and diligence
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
Preferred familiarity with building construction and medical equipment
