Development Manager at Side x Side

Position Overview:

Side x Side, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering creativity, curiosity, and collaboration among students through arts education, is seeking a passionate Development Manager to join our team. In this vital role, you will lead our fundraising efforts and manage donor relations, contributing to the growth and sustainability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement: Lead Side x Side’s outreach and awareness initiatives. Represent Side x Side at community events and networking functions to build relationships and promote our mission.

Fundraising: Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and events. Prepare and distribute fundraising materials, including solicitation letters, emails, and promotional materials. Research and identify potential funding sources, grants, and sponsorship opportunities.

Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including logistics, invitations, guest lists, and event follow-up activities.

Grant Proposal Writing and Management: Oversee the grant application process, ensuring timely submission of compelling proposals that detail our initiatives and impact.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director, other team members, and the Development Committee to ensure seamless communication and coordination of efforts. Support cross-functional projects as needed.

Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on fundraising progress and outcomes, analyzing key metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness. Use data-driven insights to make informed recommendations for improvements.

Donor Management: Maintain accurate donor records, including contact information, contributions, and interactions, in our donor database. Assist in segmenting and analyzing donor data to tailor fundraising strategies and improve donor engagement.

Acknowledgment and Stewardship: Ensure timely and personalized acknowledgment of donor contributions. Coordinate with the team to express gratitude through thank-you letters, phone calls, and personalized messages.

Volunteer Management: Assist in managing volunteers in fundraising activities, provide guidance and support.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree.

Experience: Previous experience in non-profit development, fundraising, grant writing or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite and experience with donor management databases or CRMs is advantageous. Digital management skills are a plus.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for donor communications and grant proposals. Social Media experience is a plus.

Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.

Passion: Genuine passion for arts education, nonprofit work, and making a positive community impact.

Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work culture.

Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and take on new challenges as the organization evolves. Ability to thrive in both a self-directed and collaborative environment.
