SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the daily accounting transactional processing and reporting including account analysis, general ledger and financial reporting. The individual will perform moderately complicated accounting work exercising independent judgment and action.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, cost analysis, and month-end reporting.
• Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Provide support for intercompany transactions.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities if and when they might arise.
• Prepare various monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management.
• Provide support to AP and AR functions.
• Provide support for various special projects, as needed.
• Provide support to physical inventory process.
• Complete various accrual calculations.
• Support routine bank and annual external audits by outside CPA firm.
• Interact with business operations to understand the underlying reasons for changes in financial results.
• Other duties as assigned.

GENERAL SKILLS

• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos.
• Ability to deal with non-standard situations with multiple variables.
• A Significant amount of basic math ( , -, x, /) and accounting knowledge, but also percentages, statistical and linear mathematical functions, logic expressions and Excel formulas knowledge required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 5 Years of Manufacturing experience
• Minimum 3 or more years general ledger or related accounting experience for an industrial manufacturing company.

• Strong computer skills; Excel proficiency is a must. Experience in Syteline or other ERP system is a plus. Training will be provided.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

FLSA CLASSIFICATION/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a salary exempt position which is not eligible for overtime. A minimum of forty (40) hours a week is required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position does not have any travel requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is moderately sedentary with the majority of the work done on a computer in an office environment. Regular communications via e-mail and phone is necessary.

SAFETY

Safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE may be required in production areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment. The position may occasionally require exposure to the production areas.

REASONING ABILITY
