About BlueRock:

BlueRock is a Level 2 residential placement option for youth ages 12-17 located on a picturesque 30 acre campus in Bat Cave, NC. BlueRock is a niche program designed to offer support for youth who have completed programming at a higher level of care who require additional skill building prior to returning to the home or community based settings OR as a diversion placement option for youth who don’t quite meet the criteria for a higher level of care.

We offer a relationship-based model rooted in the belief that trusting relationships drive change. BlueRock students engage in daily clinical and academic programming which is supported by experiential therapy activities. The program is located on a former summer camp with access to fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities. As a CARF accredited placement option, BlueRock offers 32 beds with an average length of stay of 90-180 days. 

Campus is located 30 minutes from Columbus, Hendersonville and Asheville and 45 minutes from Black Mountain, Rutherfordton and Old Fort. Meals are included for all staff who are on shift.

About the position: The Residential Program Director is a key leadership position who is responsible for the supervision and operation of the residential department. The Residential Program Director focuses on facilitation of residential programming, coaching and developing staff, regulatory compliance, and delegation of residential duties by way of strict adherence to Blue Rock Behavioral Health policy, procedures, and handbooks Ensures the provision of a physically and emotionally safe environment for all residents enrolled in the program. Collaborates with other departments surrounding program development and initiatives that promote the growth of the team, the program, and Bearwallow Academy students.

Summary:

  • As a key member of the BlueRock leadership team, the Residential Director is an individual who is able to see the bigger picture/vision, breaking the needs and goals of the department down into efficient procedures to assist team managers and the residential training coordinator in the success of their roles.
  • Co-creates and coaches residential staff with the core pillars of responsibility, consistency, quality care, and compassion.
  • Is a logical problem solver who can remain present in emotionally charged situations.
  • Works in collaboration with the leadership team to facilitate the BlueRock mission including, but not limited to, fairness, resident rights, employee inclusion, generational understanding, and cultural diversity while focusing on a safe environment.
  • Oversees successful management of regulatory compliance within the department and reviews / ensures completion of all incident reports.
  • Works in collaboration with the leadership team to implement residential programming, including regulation, distress tolerance, safety, positive peer culture, and relationship-based, trauma responsive care.
  • Ensures the provision of a physically and emotionally safe environment for all residents enrolled in the program.
  • Oversees interviewing, scheduling, training, and supervision of all residential staff.
  • Develops new, and updates old, systems to ensure the residential team has what they need, knows where to look for information, and has a clear path for success.
  • Supervises and serves as an objective, unbiased role model to Team Managers and Residential Training Coordinator.
  • Serves as a member of the leadership team, governing body, and CQAC committee.
  • Manages program budget.



Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required - graduate degree preferred.
  • 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • 5 years working with youth in a residential setting
  • At least 25 years of age
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.

Job Type: Full-time with benefits

Pay: Up to $70,000 per year.
