Riverwood is looking to hire a qualified individual who is passionate in Turfgrass Management. Specific qualities in turf disease problem and solution, turf growth, chemical application and irrigation are needed to thrive in this position.

Responsibilities heavily rely on the course conditions and focus little on the daily mowing and set up tasks.

*Develop, adjust and complete the seasonal spray application program for the course

*Monitor and adjust irrigation programs for optimal water conservation and usage. The current system is a Toro stand alone system with 8 control boxes on-course.

*Adhere to guest play and adjust schedules and task accordingly.

*Look for new improvements in turf quality and health

*Work closely with other management teams to ensure good communication

*Assist and develop future capital budgeting improvements to the course

*Control and monitor staff schedules and time reports

*Oversee and maintain the clubhouse grounds including flowerbeds, boulevards, parking lots and housing lawns.

*Develop and execute commonly known golf course practices - aeration, verti-cut, bunker remodel, sod removal and replacement, seeding and growing practices and more.

*While there is little direct responsibility, the knowledge of daily routines for training purposes is helpful.

Educational background is a plus and can merit higher pay. A valid spray license must be obtained for the job. The position is year round, with one weekend off per month, vacation pay, benefits, health insurance, meal and uniform provided.

The Head Superintendent is responsible for the grounds staff and will report to the Director of Golf. Riverwood is a 18 hole golf resort located in the middle of Michigan. The facility has 8 villa-style hotel rooms, as well as a 24 lane bowling center, full bar and dining room, 3 golf simulators in a private-setting lounge and a full practice facility. Also, the portfolio expanded to a second facility, The Pines Golf Course, which boasts a newly renovated full scale restaurant and bar, 18 holes with lake front golfing, separate grounds maintenance facility and Clubhouse.
