Custom Environmental Design Inc. is Hiring a Junior Project Manager Near Erie, CO

Position: Project Manager

Reports to: Project Manager

We are Custom Environmental Design, and we are a 25 year old landscaping design and Installation company that does commercial and residential projects across Denver, Colorado and surrounding States. We are looking to add a new role to our company that combines performing some of the junior project management efforts combined with driving our purchasing efforts.

You are an energetic self-starter that is looking for a fun small company where you can experience and learn a broad array of different skills. You can handle ambiguity and work well independently, but also are excited to learn hands on from the existing team. Ideally you have some (a few years) experience in any one of the areas below, but not necessarily all of them:

  • Project management
  • Accounts Payable and/or Receivables
  • Purchasing
  • Office Administration
  • General Accounting

Our office is based in Erie, CO and we mostly work out of the office. At times you will want to be out at the job sites and at customer and supplier meetings. We are open to flexible working hours and situations and are not a typical 9-5 operation.

Main Responsibilities:

Project management, smaller projects

  • Review "Requests For Bids" from customers
  • Work with customers to understand design requirements
  • Perform “takeoffs” from customer plans
  • Prepare Bids and Proposals, and send bids to customer
  • Follow up with customers to land projects signing
  • Drive accounts receivable for projects

Purchasing, all projects

  • Send purchase orders and contracts to suppliers
  • Ensure supplier has material availability
  • Determine delivery schedule with supplier
  • Ensure supplier is delivering on schedule
  • Ensuring supplier invoicing is per delivery
  • Drive accounts payable and reconciliation of payments

Office Admin support

  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Manage all main inbound phone calls for company
  • Handle customer service issues, as needed
  • Work with crews on scheduling jobs and liaise with the customer
  • Corresponding via email, phone and chat within the organization and directly with customers
  • Help keep the office clean and stocked
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of comparable work experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work and carry out assignments to completion independently
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparation of company materials
  • Ability to drive (own vehicle) to job sites, suppliers, meetings, etc

Preferred requirements:

  • Construction and/or landscaping work
  • Accounts payable experience preferred
  • Bi-lingual - English, Spanish

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, driving.

The compensation for this role is $22/hour for the first 3 months as a trial period. After the trial period the role is a full-time salary starting at $50,000 with a generous bonus scheme and company benefits including a company matched pension.
