We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will provide chairside assistance to dentists during dental procedures, perform administrative tasks, and ensure a clean and sterile environment. Your role is crucial in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of instruments
- Assist dentists during dental procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support as needed
- Take and dental radiographs (x-rays) as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care instructions, and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using electronic health record systems (Open Dental)
- Follow strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment
- Adhere to aseptic techniques when handling instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Take vital signs of patients and record them accurately
Skills:
- Proficient in dental assisting techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques such as intraoral radiography and panoramic imaging
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations
- Excellent knowledge of infection control protocols and adherence to HIPAA regulations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
