Old Orchard Capital Management LP is a registered investment advisory firm located in New York, NY. Old Orchard specializes in proprietary credit trading with a focus on municipal debt. The firm is seeking a full-time, inter-disciplinary infrastructure engineer to join the technology team with a focus on IT infrastructure. Interested candidates must possess excellent quantitative, analytical, multi-tasking, and technical skills. He/she will be expected to play a key role in evolving our infrastructure, applications, and processes, which makes the role challenging and entrepreneurial. Productive and innovative ideas are always welcomed and taken seriously at Old Orchard.
Role / Responsibilities:
The infrastructure engineer will be expected to handle a broad array of tasks, including:
- Streamline and script infrastructure processes
- Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud solutions
- Coordinate with service providers and manage infrastructure projects
- Coordinate with MSP to perform desktop and networking support
- Help manage cybersecurity solutions
- Design and develop analytics for the trading and research desk
- Build out and manage DevOps
- Help build and maintain existing data pipelines (ETL, FIX, etc.)
- Work on data science projects, i.e., ML, building models, big data, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelors/Masters in a quantitative/technology field
3 years of corporate working experience in a quantitative/technology field
1 years of experience in networking and desktop support
2 years of experience in Microsoft Azure
6 years of combined experience in coding and scripting
REQUIRED advanced proficiency in: Azure, PowerShell, SQL, Excel, VBA
Preferred proficiency in: GitHub, C#, Python, DevOps, web dev, cybersecurity, FIX, basic fixed income knowledge
Knowledgeable and experienced in coding best practices and dev cycles
Ability to analyze, clean, and rationalize data
Extremely detail-oriented
100% autodidactic / self-starter
Organized and efficient with strong communication skills
