Assistant Teacher

Friendship Presbyterian Preschool is a half-day, program that maintains a reputation of distinction by providing an experience that allows each child the opportunity to develop their imagination and grow socially and academically in a loving, nurturing environment.

We are currently accepting applications for a Lead Teacher opening in our 4-Day 3-year-old classroom. Responsibilities (includes but are not limited to) : Weekly lesson planning Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.

Make sure the classroom is age-appropriate and fun! Keep classroom and hallway bulletin boards decorated Playground Duty.

Keep classroom, bathroom, and supply closets neat and orderly. Conduct individual parent / teacher conferences at least once a year in January.

Be familiar with school policies and rules. Be a mandated reporter and child advocate. Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with stated policies in school handbook.

Train and oversee any assistant teachers, substitutes and floaters working in your class. Facilitate parent involvement and positive communication.

Physical requirements : Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, hearing, talking, and repetitive motion are physical requirements of the position.

Qualifications : Previous experience in teaching Pre-K, or other related fields. Possess a teamwork mindset, strong communication skills, organization skills, and problem-solving ability.

Ability to build rapport with children, families, and peers.
