CFO is wanted for startup insurance company in Hollywood, FL. Excellent Comp package plus bonus ($225k DOE). Relocation available.
The CFO will play a critical role in the strategic direction and growth of the company. This in-office position, based in South Florida, requires a seasoned financial leader with extensive statutory accounting experience and a deep understanding of the insurance industry, particularly in excess and surplus lines commercial property insurance. The ideal candidate will have experience in fundraising and a strong background in financial management, planning, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial strategy and planning, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives.
- Oversee all financial operations, including statutory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, with a focus on statutory requirements specific to the insurance industry.
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial stakeholders to secure necessary funding and support the company's growth initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to drive business performance and decision-making.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and reporting systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial performance and support strategic initiatives.
- Manage tax and audit processes with accounting firms.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address potential impacts on the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role within the insurance industry.
- Extensive experience with statutory accounting and regulatory requirements in the insurance sector.
- Track record of working with excess and surplus lines property insurance carriers.
- Strong background in fundraising, including experience securing capital from investors and financial institutions.
- Familiarity with the Florida insurance market is highly desirable.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with executive leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
